Course Overview

Our Basic Pistol Training program is designed to give shooters the essential knowledge, skills, and confidence to safely and effectively operate a semi-automatic pistol. Through professional instruction and live-fire drills, participants will learn how to handle, manipulate, and shoot their pistol with maximum efficiency — improving accuracy, speed, and overall shooting performance. This course is ideal for new shooters, those returning to the sport, or experienced firearm owners looking to refine their fundamentals.

🎯 Shooting Fundamentals

  • Proper Grip Techniques – Two-Hand & One-Hand Grip mastery
  • Sight Alignment & Picture – For iron sights and red dot optics
  • Shooting Stances – Isosceles, Weaver, and Modified Combat
  • Trigger Control – Smooth, consistent press for accuracy
  • Controlled Breathing – Enhanced stability and precision
  • Follow-Through – Maintaining fundamentals after each shot
  • Safe Holster Operations – Efficient draw and re-holstering

🔄 Firearm Manipulation

  • Ready Positions – Low Ready, High Ready, Compressed Ready
  • Reloading Techniques:
    • Administrative Reload
    • Emergency Reload (Slide Lock)
    • Tactical Reload (Magazine Retention)
  • Malfunction Management – Identifying and clearing common stoppages
  • Slide Lock Operations – Managing reloads and clearances under pressure
  • Controlled pairs & precision shots at varying distances

  • Failure-to-stop drills (2 body, 1 head)

  • Draw-and-fire from holster under time constraints

  • One-handed and two-handed shooting at static targets

  • Multiple target engagement with smooth transitions

  • Timed reload and malfunction clearing exercises

📋 Prerequisites

  • Valid PAL/RPAL or proof of legal firearm ownership
  • Basic understanding of firearm safety (recommended)

🎒 What to Bring

  • Semi-automatic pistol & minimum 2 magazines
  • 150–200 rounds of ammunition
  • Quality holster (strong side, outside or inside waistband)
  • Eye & ear protection
  • Appropriate range attire
